It takes a Village, they say…

par | Juin 18, 2024 | Coaching

It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a community to grow a business. Next to Kamin Samuel, PhD’s guidance, there is this incredible community of coaches created by Steve Chandler, also known as the Godfather of Coaching that I want to acknowledge today. Steve is an author, speaker, and force of nature, having written over 54 books. His Prosperity School of Coaching is where Kamin first met him, and she has been coached by Steve for over a decade. Alongside the amazing Melissa Ford (don’t miss her book Living Service), Steve created a group where we receive support, inspiration, and connect with each other. Steve himself has been coaching with Steve Hardison, also called the Ultimate Coach (read The Book of Being!).

And for the past four years, I’ve been inspired and coached by many of Steve’s colleagues and students: John Strasser, whose Insight Coaching Academy was a fantastic start, the luminous Aila Hale (and is the best coach for teenagers you can dream of!); the witty and powerful New Yorker Carolyn Freyer-Jones whose coaching school is true gold; and the phenomenal Tarita Preston, Professional Life and Leadership Coach in Cincinnati (check out her Leadership for Women of Color program). My NLP mentor and supervisor, John Overdurf is based in Georgia and he’s one of a kind of a Magician.
And finally, this Fall, I enrolled in Ankush Jain‘s UK-based School of Coaching because he is exceptional, and I am thrilled to be part this professional community of heart-centered and coaches who are (almost) in the same time zone as me. The power of community is exponential.

Now let’s talk about money—often a taboo subject in Switzerland, but I believe in transparency. Since 2021, I’ve invested between 35-45k CHF annually in my personal and professional development. This significant commitment reflects my dedication to continuous learning and growth so that I can become the best version of myself in all areas of my life. Whether as a woman, coach, mentor, colleague, spouse, sister, daughter, auntie, step-mom, friend, neighbor, human being. Some of you here invested in an EMBA or other higher education programs and understand the value of such investments, don’t you?

My intention here is to share the context of my journey as a prosperous coach and a fulfilled human being and to acknowledge the incredible coaches and mentors who have shaped who I am and who I am becoming. I am beyond grateful for their guidance and support.
And if you’ve read this entire post, and you’re curious and might want to hear more, I’d love to hear from you—reach out.
