Who Has Access to You?
Lately, I have made the firm decision to only spend time with people who enliven me, people who have spaciousness for me, who ask questions and listen, where there is mutual nourishment.
Here are 6 truths I have learnt about friendship:
1. If you are a strong, accomplished woman, be ready to trigger envy. Not everyone will like you, learn to be okay with that.
In French we say: “Mieux vaut faire envie que pitié.” Voilà.
2. It’s often easier for people to show empathy when you are down than to celebrate you when you rise. Not everyone can rejoice for your success.
3. The best thing a man can do to improve his health is to spend time with a woman. The best thing a woman can do to improve her health is to spend time with a woman.
4. Just because a friendship has history doesn’t mean it still has connection. Relationships are alive, sometimes they end. Let them go.
5. You can make new friends and meaningful connections at any age, at any time. It is never too late.
6. The friends you naturally attract now are the ones who match your current frequency. Your soul sisters will recognize you immediately, you will both feel the connection. Trust that.
This lady, Angela (@angeliqadevi), is one of them. She is a talented actress, and a Goddess. Her brilliance, strength, wisdom, self-awareness, determination and creativity are off the charts.
She is a sister, a dear friend and a client whose openness and commitment have turned dreams into reality. I am grateful for our friendship and the trust we share.
