As a Life Coach and Yoga Teacher, my definition of Work Life balance always included healthy habits such as:
nature walks, dancing, social time, meditation, playing, cooking, reading, taking naps…
So that I would keep my energy cup full to the brim.
Well, to be honest this week l EPICALLY FAILED at this !
And I did not see it coming.
I did not see it coming because I got so involved in coaching my lovely clients (a packed schedule) that I didn’t listen to my body, neither to my heart. I just didn’t.
So I skipped all my healthy habits: no nature walk, no zumba, no meditation, no cooking my favorite meals, no reading, no nap, no time with friends.
Here are other examples of what NOT to do, that I did:
– Canceled a music gathering and instead, used this time to work late at night!
– Canceled an appointment with friend when THIS could have been fun, uplifting and nurturing!
– Canceled a coffee with a neighbour because I had no more energy left to meet someone new and listen.
– Didn’t take the time to plan anything fun for the weekend. (okay, I also love spontaenous meetups but in Switzerland, if you want to see people, you need to plan ahead of time!)
The results?
My sleep got disturbed. Insomnia the whole week.
And I felt exhausted, down and very cranky this morning.
Seriously. What’s the point of being self-employed if I forget to take the time create the LIFESTYLE that I love?
Life-saver: Went to a weight-lifting class AND a yoga class this morning. NOW my body is thankful and my mood is raising again. Thanks Goddess!
Mood-saver: Am meeting a friend later, will go and about, gathering inspiration and living a little.
So, by writing this I want to share the trap of having a passion vocation and make these statements:
Yes, I am Life Coach… Therefore I need to walk the talk.
Yes, I am Life Coach… AND I need to make sure I take care of my Lifestyle.
Yes, I am Life Coach … AND I need to take care the Health of the Healer!
So that I can continue to love what I do and do what I love.
It’s all about balance. And we always have a choice.
I would love to hear about YOUR EPIC FAILS!! 😉 Have a blessed weekend.
