Can you (really) switch off at the beach?

You are lying on the beach. You feel the warmth of the sunlight on your face, hear the waves, and… can you also hear this little voice inside pushing you to think about the future?

“Where are we heading to? Where is my next challenge? Will I be safe?”

Even though it is now summer, the nagging thoughts don’t go away. Your body may be on holiday but your mind is still competing with itself, restless.

Why? Because somewhere along the way, your nervous system learnt that to exist, you have to perform.

But when control and achievement take the driving seat of your life, they stop serving you. Your week off is stressing you out and you doubt: “Do I really deserve to relax now?”

When you evaluate your worth based on performance only, the race never stops. You are competing with a tyrannical version of yourself, and you can’t win the race because the finish line keeps moving.

Are you aware of this pattern? If you are, good. But it is not enough to stop it, right?

The issue is not the issue. It’s how you relate to the issue.

Good news! There is a way for you to slow down the mind, interrupt the DMN (default mode network), the house of habits and find your flow: a pace that is organic, non-linear, yet effective and sustainable. Another way to live.

One of my gifts is to help my clients remember who they already are, and who they want to become.

This is not an intellectual understanding, it is a place within you, and with practice, you build this new internal set point, and it stays.

One step at a time, you can slow down and let your nervous system settle, giving you access to a limitless resources, of ideas and solutions.

And when your mind becomes spacious again, you can enjoy your vacation at the beach.

From that place, you can create yourself, your relationships and a future that feels light, joyful and expansive.

✨✨✨

I’m not very good at relaxing on the beach, but that’s because I prefer to move rather than lie down. So next month, I will be exploring Harlem (yes, in NYC!) and I will be opening three slots for a meaningful conversation.

First come, first served. Write to me and explain what you want to create.
