Before starting my coaching practice in 2021, I had over 15 jobs, so my trajectory was certainly not a straight line.
Last week, I opened a newspaper in Geneva and saw four pages about people over 50 struggling to find a role.
Then my coach in London shared about a UK newspaper explaining why Gen Z and younger generations may struggle to find jobs because AI is taking them.
Then another article said that managers should be prepared to lose their jobs because companies are restructuring and looking to save money.
Everywhere we look, there seems to be bad news.
And all these stories create a mindset of lack and fear.
Then clients say to me:
“But Amrita, this is reality. You cannot say it is untrue.”
And my answer is:
“You are right. I am not saying it is untrue.
I am saying that you are not a statistic, you are not a newspaper headline.
You are a human being.
And you are free to choose a stance and a belief system that empowers you and opens doors in your mind first, so that you can see a different future for yourself.”
And each day, you are free to take actions that either confirm that your goal is “impossible”…or actions that pave the way to your next opportunity.
I am fascinated by how we accidentally hypnotize ourselves with language.
The words we say, the stories we tell ourselves, the meaning we give to events.
My belief systems?
Life is happening for me, and I get to use any difficult situation for learning, growth and upliftment.
We see what we believe (not the other way around).
So what do you want to see, for yourself?
